Second Chance Cars

Increasingly, our neighbors in Concord and Carlisle are expressing their need for simple basic affordable transportation to get to/from work and unlock income opportunities they cannot now access.

We have partnered with Second Chance Cars (SCC), an innovative non-profit organization in Concord that refurbishes used cars with the help of vocational high school students. The cars are then awarded, at a nominal price, to people in Concord and Carlisle that need but cannot afford a car to get to work. SCC provides donors with a competitive tax deduction.

If you are a resident of Concord or Carlisle, are in need of a car to get, keep or grow your job, and cannot afford one, please leave a message on our Hotline (978-341-3151) or send us an email. If you do not live in Concord or Carlisle and need a car, please visit the Second Chance Cars website for a list of organizations who may be able to help you.

A unique aspect of the Second Chance Cars approach is the award ceremony that marks the presentation of the car to its new owner. All involved in the process are invited to attend, including the car donor, SCC personnel, the vocational high school team that worked on the car, and the recipient and their family. These ceremonies are recorded and two videos are shown here. Annie’s story was also featured in an article in the Concord Bridge Newspaper.
