Last year our conference provided more assistance to more families than ever before. It was stressful at times for our volunteers, but we remain committed to our mission of providing emergency financial assistance to families in crisis. In response to increased need, over the last year we have worked to improve the efficiency of our internal systems for processing assistance requests. It is now time for us to address the efficiency of our external communications and fundraising.
What Has Changed
- Mailing address – We can now receive mail at P.O. Box 81, Concord MA 01742. We will continue to pick up any mail sent to the Parish Center, but the P.O. Box is more convenient for us and will lead to quicker response.
- Hotline – We have a new hotline phone number: 978-341-3151. It should be more convenient for our neighbors since there is no need to dial an extension. In addition, if you visit our website using a cell phone, you should be able to dial the hotline by clicking a single button. The new system sends an alert to the hotline monitors as soon as a new message is recorded so that they can respond more quickly.
- Online donations – We changed to a new service provider, PayPal.com, that offers immediate notification of donations and faster transfer of money to our account. Using this new provider, we will continue to accept one-time and periodic donations using credit and debit cards such as VISA and MasterCard. Donors with PayPal accounts will have the option of signing in to PayPal for a more streamlined experience. We will continue to accept donations through the old system, but encourage our donors to transition to the new system.
- Website – If you visit the website home page using a cell phone, you will see two new buttons at the bottom of the cell phone screen. One will dial the hotline and the other will launch your email program to send email to our conference.
