On the weekend of September 24 and 25, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Concord-Carlisle Conference members will be reaching out to parishioners of Holy Family and St. Irene’s during and after Masses . This is a great opportunity to learn more about our charitable activities, to consider volunteering, and to offer your financial support.
We need your help. Our work is reliant on private donations to provide temporary financial assistance. Donations enable us to quickly respond to requests for assistance in paying critical household bills. Please consider donating to this worthy cause. We use 99% of the money raised to directly help those in need. We can accept donations in cash, by check, or online.
We assist 50-75 local households each year of all ages, races, faith backgrounds and family situations. In 2022, the areas of greatest need were in financial support for shelter, food and utilities. Additionally, we provide guidance to the people we help on issues such as budgeting, access to other organizations, filling out needed paperwork, etc.
While the citizens of Concord and Carlisle might appear to be self-sufficient that is not always the case. People come to us for many reasons including:
- The loss of a job;
- The inability to pay for car repair affecting employment;
- Victims of domestic violence trying to get back on their feet;
- A sudden death of a family’s primary caregiver;
- Unexpected illnesses adding to financial drain.
