St. Vincent de Paul, Concord-Carlisle Conference Needs Your Help
Who We Are:
We are a group of 25 volunteers whose goal it is to provide short-term emergency financial assistance to Concord Carlisle neighbors through trusting, empathetic, and confidential connections. We’ve been established in the Concord area for more than 50 years.
We are part of a lay Catholic charitable organization comprising 800,000 volunteers in 140 countries, organized locally, and inspired by the works of St. Vincent de Paul. September 27 is the Feast of St. Vincent de Paul.
Who We Help:
We assist 50-75 local households each year of all ages, races, faith backgrounds and family situations. In 2022, the areas of greatest need were in financial support for shelter, food and utilities. Additionally, we provide guidance to the people we help on issues such as budgeting, access to other organizations, filling out needed paperwork, etc.
While the citizens of Concord and Carlisle might appear to be self-sufficient that is not always the case. People come to us for many reasons including:
- The loss of a job;
- The inability to pay for car repair affecting employment;
- Victims of domestic violence trying to get back on their feet;
- A sudden death of a family’s primary caregiver;
- Unexpected illnesses adding to financial drain.
Donations will be doubled up to $7,500:
We need your help! Through the generosity of our volunteers, the first $7,500 donated will be doubled. Our work is reliant on private donations to provide temporary financial assistance. Donations enable us to quickly respond to requests for assistance in paying critical household bills such as food, utilities and rent. Please consider donating to this worthy cause. We use 99% of the money raised to help those in need.
